Patricia Sparks
December 29, 1941 - April 15, 2024

Patricia Ellen Gerhardt-Sparks, known to many as Pat, Sparky, or Grammy, was born on December 29, 1941, in Chicago, IL. She was a beloved resident of Chesterton, Indiana and touched the lives of many with her kind and caring nature.
Patricia had a passion for shopping, especially for others, and was known for her Avon sales. She found great joy in spending time with her two best friends, Carol and Fran. Patricia's warm heart made her the go-to person for advice, support, and unconditional love.
There was nothing Patricia loved more than being with her children and grandchildren. Wherever the family gathered was her favorite place in the world. She enjoyed the company of her loved ones and cherished every moment spent with them.
Patricia's favorite TV shows were HSN and QVC, which she would tune into 24/7. She was often seen keeping up with the latest trends and was known for her fashionable attire and beautiful jewelry, adorned with gorgeous diamonds.
Throughout her career, Patricia worked as a switchboard operator at St. Anthony Hospital and Porter Memorial Hospital. Her dedication and hard work were commendable, and she made a positive impact on those she encountered.
Patricia was married to Willard Gerhardt in 1958 and later to David Sparks in 1996. Patricia leaves behind a loving family, including her children, Robert (Lori) Gerhardt and Tracey Gerhardt, and her step-child, Chris (Tim) Sparks. She was also blessed with ten grandchildren: Troy, Carleigh, and Riley Gerhardt, James, Julia, Jacob, and Joshua Merryman, Tim and Hannah Chambers, and Amanda Sparks.  Preceding her in death was her husband, David Sparks, step-son, Doug Sparks, grandson, Brandon Sparks and her brother, William Pardee.

Known for her generosity and willingness to help others, Patricia was involved in community organizations such as Meals on Wheels and volunteering where needed. She had a deep faith as a devout Catholic and lived a consecrated life.
Patricia Ellen Gerhardt-Sparks will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and acceptance will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
