Marie D. Polita, 85, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 12:04 pm in her home.

Private services will be conducted. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.    

She was born May 25, 1938 in Michigan City, IN to the late Jake and Marie (Wisthoff) Povlock. On January 13, 1962 in Michigan City, IN she married Thaddeus "Ted" Polita who preceded her on September 10, 1988.

Surviving are her son, Todd (Jody) Polita of Trail Creek, IN; grandchild, Danielle (Tyson) Blattner of Overland Park, KS; two great-grandchildren, Dax and Bodie Blattner; two sisters, Diane (Rick) Sweney of Long Beach, IN and Janet Bergeron; four brothers, Jack Povlock of Trail Creek, IN, LaMonte Povlock of California, Daniel Povlock of The Pines, IN and Stephen (Brenda) Povlock of Rolling Prairie, IN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jane Randhan; two brothers, Joseph Povlock and Lee Povlock.   

Marie had worked at Fiber Bond and she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Michigan City, IN and the Michigan City Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cards and being with her family.
