Gary L. Hampton, 80, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. in Life Care Center of Michigan City.

Private celebration of his life will be held. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

He was born on April 3, 1944 in New York, New York to the late Guy and Alyce (Kuhnel) Hampton.

Surviving are his daughter, Susan Anderson of Mineral Wells, Texas; and cousin, Marjorie Wozniak of Michigan City, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Santa Monica, CA. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, honorably serving his country. Gary was a member of the VFW Post 2536, D.A.V. Danny Bruce Chapter #23 and the Elks Lodge #432.
