Fayrene L. Brigance, 76, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 8:46 a.m. in VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, Indiana.

A private family celebration of her life will be held. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

She was born on July 27, 1947, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The daughter of James and Zelda (Calhoon) Wilson.

Surviving are three daughters, Juli (Meg Goodman) Swartzlander of Winfield, Illinois, Cyndi Swartzlander of Michigan City, and Jessica Bryan of Michigan City, Indiana; four grandchildren, Marcus Swartzlander, Alex Swartzlander, Jada Dabney, and Vasilis Bryan; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Belinda Renegar of Washington; step-mother, Ann Wilson of Arizona; step-brother, Doug (Sybille) Schlarbaum of Arizona; two dear friends, Maggie Bradley and Karen Darnell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; James Wilson and Zelda Candaele; two sisters, Anna Serquinia and Betty Jo Chrastil; and step-brother, Dennis Schlarbaum.

Fayrene was a golfer, bowler, homemaker, enjoyed running her own cleaning business, and loved her clients. She also worked in Quality Control for Winn Machine. In addition she enjoyed gardening and small crafts. Fayrene’s most favorite job was being a mom and grandmother.
