Thomas E. Marciniak, Sr., 77, LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 8:55 am in Hospice Franciscan Communities, Michigan City, IN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Buffalo & 10th Streets, Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm Monday and from 8:30 am - 9:30 am Tuesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.

He was born July 19, 1939 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Michael and Lillian (Roskie) Marciniak. On October 14, 1961 in Michigan City, IN he married Geraldine Mecca who survives in LaPorte, IN.

Also surviving are three sons, Thomas (Terri) Marciniak, Jr. of Spring Hill, FL, Kenneth (Karen) Marciniak of Rolling Prairie, IN and Gregory (Katie) Marciniak of Fort Mill, SC; six grandchildren, Joseph, Daniel, Kristopher, Katelyn, Michael and Kyle Marciniak; two sisters, Valeria Kniola of Michigan City, IN and Vicki Grott of Cross Hill, SC; and three brothers, Michael (Sharon) Marciniak, Jr. of Michigan City, IN, Phillip (Mary Lou) Marciniak of Greensburg, IN and David Marciniak of Michigan City, IN.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Marciniak; and two brothers, Robert Marciniak and Frank Jasniewski.

Thomas had worked as a supervisor at Modine Manufacturing. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Michigan City, IN and was a former member of the Moose Family Center #980 and St. Joseph Young Men's Society. Thomas enjoyed polka dancing, horseshoes and woodworking.
