Robert Wesley Dawson November 14, 1963 - July 3, 2017 Robert Wesley Dawson, 53, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at 9:10 am in , Michigan City, Indiana. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Dan Gute officiating. Private entombment will take place in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. He was born November 14, 1963 in Gary, Indiana to Jerald and Margaret (Joseph) Dawson. On March 21, 1992 in Portage, IN he married Vera Tackett who survives in Michigan City, IN. Also surviving are daughter, Jenna Dawson of Michigan City, IN; son, Joseph Dawson of Michigan City, IN; his mother, Margaret Dawson of Portage, IN; and five sisters, Kathryn Corson of TX, Susan (Michael) Koleff of Valparaiso, IN, Marjorie (Michael) Vale of KY, Lory Branscome of TX and Rebecca (Brad) Dawson of TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerald Dawson Robert was an operator tech. at U.S. Steel. and a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. who proudly served from 1982-1987. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar and other musical instruments, playing rugby, writing music, his fish tanks and spending time with his family.
