Richard Jamieson


Richard D. Jamieson of Centennial  CO, passed away peacefully January 20, 2012 in Centennial, Colorado, after a lenthly illness.  He was surrounded by his family.

Dick was born to Clair O'Brian (Ireland) and George Jamieson (Scotland) in 1936.

Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Sara; parents George & Clair; his identical twin brother Edward, half-brother George and his little sister Barbara. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Dee; children Jeff (Kelly) Jamieson of Sahuarita, AZ, formerly of  Michigan City, Julie (Todd) Schulz of Brighton, CO and Scott Jamieson of Lakewood, CO; grandchildren Sara, Jack, Caitlin and Parker; and his great grandson Connor; mother-in-law, Mrs. Clara J. Malburg of Scottville, MI; sister-in-law's, Constance Malburg of Whitehall, MI and Barbra Jamieson of Northville, MI; brother-in-laws, John (Vicky) Malburg, Larry (Penny) Malburg and Dale (Susan) Malburg all of Scottville, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

Richard was very involved in his parish as a extra ordinary Eucharistic Minister; an active softball and soccer coach; he and Dee fostered to 60 newborn children through Catholic Community Services over 8-year period. Richard spent most of his career in sales - primarily in the Steel Building Mfg industry. Richard was an avid sports fan, especially the Detroit Red Wings.  He proudly served in the US ARMY.  Richard will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, and grandfather. Mr. Jamieson will be greatly missed for his compassion for life, his laughter, smile and especially his church and family.

A celebration of life mass was held Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, Colorado, where he was a active member for over 30 years. A Committal Service with full Military honors was conducted at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, which concluded  the celebration of Mr. Jamieson's life. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN provided local information.
