Paul Collins, 77, Westville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 8:37 p.m. in hospice Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Michigan City, IN.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Michigan City Christian Church, 11232 W. Earl Road, Michigan City, IN with Pastor Kim Cole officiating. Cremation will take place. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
He was born February 10, 1939 in Alger, OH to the late Roy and Vergie (Risner) Collins. On September 2, 1967 in Tolleston, IN he married Helen (Wishman) Collins who survives in Westville, IN.
Also surviving are three sons, Richard (Suk) Arnold of Winfield, IN, Thomas (Patricia) Arnold of Chesterton, IN, Alan (Cheryl) Arnold of Goshen, IN; daughter, Paulita (Brett) Qualkenbush of Michigan City, IN; five grandchildren, Paul, Stacy, Melissa, Samantha, Hannah; great-grandchild, Adalyn; two brothers, Harold (Kathy) Collins of Portage, IN, John Collins of Lake Station, IN; two sisters, Betty Vaughan of New Chicago, IN, Pauline (Ed) Vacherlon of Plainfield, IL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Ray Collins.
Paul retired in 2001 after 35 years working at Silgan Container Corporation as a production mechanic. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Hobart, IN. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and horses.
