Norma J. Middleton, 96, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at 4:00 am in the Rittenhouse Senior Living, Michigan City.
Cremation will take place and entombment will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Chapel of the Chimes Mausoleum. Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel of Michigan City.
She was born February 4, 1917 in Prairie City, Oregon to the late John & Myrtle (Weddle) Martin. On June 6, 1945 she married Lyman Curry who preceded her in death November 4, 1973. On January 2, 1978 she married Laurence Middleton, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 14, 1999. Surviving are 2 Step-daughters, Marcia (John) Stroud of Laporte, Indiana and Sue (Neil) Sult of Coco Beach, Florida; Step-son, Larry (Pam) Middleton of Michigan City, Indiana; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Gladys Kammueller and Edna Mack and a brother, Gene Martin.
Mrs. Middleton retired after 18 years from Carson Pirie Scott, Michigan City as a sales associate in the Estee Lauder Cosmetics department. She was an entertainer that included singing, dancing and comedy in theatres, Las Vegas, USO Shows working with Bob Hope, The Ed Sullivan Show and Nightclubs all over the country. She also participated in the Dunes Summer Theatre.
