Mary Lou Ann Ponicki, 78, Westville, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 101 N. Church Rd., Otis, Indiana with Rev. Mick Kopil officiating. Private burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday and from 8:30 am - 9:15 am Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN. A Vigil Service will be conducted at 4:30 pm Friday in the funeral chapel.

She was born December 6, 1939 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Louis and Mary (Wojnarowicz) Ulias. On September 30, 1961 in Calumet City, IL she married Ronald Ponicki who preceded her on November 12, 2015.

Surviving are a daughter, Mindy (Paul Stefanko) Ponicki of Westville, IN; grandchildren, Brandon, Collin and Ian; two sisters, Patricia Dilbo of Sun City West, AZ and Phyllis Paliga of Lansing, IL; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ponicki of Lansing, IL; friend and neighbor, Wayne Degarmo of Westville, IN; and her best buddies, Lilly and Daisy.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Todd Ponicki.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Otis, IN and enjoyed cooking, shopping and playing bingo. The family would like to extend a special acknowledgement to Dr. Kumar and visiting nurse Christian for their care and support.
