Mary J. Wilson

Mary J. "Little Mary" Wilson, 84, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at 1:25 am in Hospice Franciscan Communities.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, August 29, 2016 at Full Gospel House of Prayer, 2700 Ohio St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Burial will take place in Bloomfield Cemetery, Macon, GA. Visitation will be from 10:00 am -11:00 am, Monday at Full Gospel House of Prayer. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

She was born January 21, 1932 in Macon, Georgia to the late George and Mary (Ross) Hill, Sr. On January 13, 1952 in Macon, GA she married Willie A. Wilson who preceded her in death on April 26, 1968.

Surviving are two daughters, Cathy (Alfonso) Wilson Thompson of Chicago, IL and Gloria Wilson of Michigan City, IN; four sons, Rodney (Karen) Wilson of Richton Park, IL, Steve (Earnetta) Wilson of Chicago, IL, Donald (Lenda) Wilson of Michigan City, IN and Walder (Patricia) Wilson of Chicago, IL; 30 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Corine Thorpe of Macon, GA; and three brothers, Willie Hill of Perry, GA, George B. Hill, Jr. of Macon, GA and Walter Hill of Macon, GA. Special granddaughter Tiffany Wilson, Michigan City, IN. Also sister-in-law Louise Young, Macon GA and brother-in-law Horace Wilson , New York, NY.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Willie Lee Wilson and Daniel Wilson; and one sister Annie Stewart.

Mary retired as a book processor at the Chicago Public Library. She was a member of Spoken Word Faith Center, Michigan City, IN. Mary enjoyed church, reading, puzzles and being with her family.
