Mary "Kay" Havlin, 81, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:55 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Indiana
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana and Wednesday from 10:15 am till 11:00 am in the Legacy Center of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church.
She was born December 3, 1936 in Neptune, New Jersey to the late Edward and Anna (Boyle) Sweetman. On March 2, 1957 in Freehold, New Jersey she married Richard L Havlin, Sr. who preceded May 22, 2002. Surviving are daughter, Theresa "Tracy" (Terry) Russell of Tupelo, Mississippi; three sons, Stephen (Melody) Havlin Sr. of La Porte, Indiana, David (Marcia) Havlin of Cincinnati, Ohio and Kenneth (Debra) Havlin of Michigan City, Indiana; daugher-in-law, Kathleen Havlin of Cedar Lake, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren, Richard Havlin, III, Jamie Havlin, Emily Havlin, Stephen (Yuka) Havlin Jr., Christopher Havlin, Hillary Havlin, Candice (Josh) Godsey, Corrine (Brad) Sams, Tyler Russell, Taylor Russell, Caleb Havlin, Evan Havlin and Kendall Havlin; three great-grandchildren, Silas Godsey, Carrigan Sams and Sara Havlin; sister, Margaret "Peggy" McGinn of Manchester, New Jersey; She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Havlin Jr.; great-grandchild, Theo Godsey along with her brother, James Sweetman.
Kay retired as a sales clerk at Van Heusen, Lighthouse Place Premium Outlet Mall. She was a member of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana where she attended Mass on a daily basis. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Michigan City Booster Club and loved Boxer Dogs.
