Leonard J. Kazmucha, 82, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 4:12 am in his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery with full military services conducted by the V.F.W. Post 2536 and the American Legion Skwiat Post 451. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm -6:00 pm, Sunday and from 8:30 am - 9:30 am Monday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. The St. Joseph Young Men's Society will recite the Rosary at 4:00 pm and the V.F.W. Post 2536 will conduct a memorial service at 4:30 pm, both Sunday in the funeral chapel.

He was born March 23, 1934 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Walter and Frances (Gallas) Kazmucha. On February 6, 1960 in LaPorte, IN he married MaryAnn Wasielewski who preceded him on August 19, 1996.

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Laurie (Steve) Hough of Michigan City, Indiana; son, Kenneth (Janice) Kazmucha of Granger, IN; daughter, Charlene (Henry) Pluta of Chesterton, IN; five grandchildren, David (Cyndi) Pluta of Valparaiso, Indiana, Allyson (Heather Melnyk) Kazmucha of San Jose, CA, Matthew (Ashley Smith) Kazmucha of Michigan City, IN, Sara (Josh) Gibson of Washington, DC and Kelsey Kazmucha of LaPorte, IN; great-grandchildren, Amelia Gibson, Caroline Pluta and Henry Pluta; and his brother-in-law, Theodore Yagelski of Michigan City, Indiana.

He was also preceded in death by two Sons, Daniel and Lawrence Kazmucha; two brothers, Edward "Lefty" Kazmucha and Henry Kazmucha; and two sisters, Marian Schulmeyer and Virginia Yagelski.

Leonard had previously worked at Josam Mfg, Jewel/Osco, Chesterton, Indiana and was a assistant for many years at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. He was also the former owner of Kazmucha Monuments and a US Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the VFW Post 2536 where he served with the honor guard for many years. Leonard was also a life member of the Joseph Young Men's Society and the DAV Danny Bruce Chapter #23.
