Kathleen "Kathy" Knapp, 52, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 12:10 am in Franciscan Community Hospice, Michigan City, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Jay Loucks officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, Friday and from 9:00 am until time service Saturday in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

Kathy was born December 18, 1964 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Edward and Marilyn (Harrison) Wisser. On December 7, 1991 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Victor "Craig" Knapp who survives Michigan City, Indiana; Also surviving is her mother, Marilyn Wisser McIntyre, Michigan City, Indiana; Two Sons, Zachary Thomas (Brook King) Knapp of Michigan City, Indiana and Eric Allen Knapp of Chicago, Illinois; Two Sisters, Vicki Staley of Laporte, Indiana, Terri (Tom) Krause of Michigan City, Indiana; Three Brothers, Darrell (Nancy) Wisser of Marion, Indiana, Bruce Wisser of Kansas City, Kansas and Brian (Dawn) Wisser of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; Special Sister Niece, Sara Downs of Laporte, Indiana and several other Nieces and Nephews; All her loved ones in Pennsylvania; Mother-in-law, Rosalie Knapp of Valparaiso, Indiana; She was preceded in death by Father, Edward Wisser; Step-Father , Tom McIntyre; Father-in-law, Larry Knapp;

Kathy worked as a waitress for over 20 years at Swingbelly's, Michigan City, Indiana and in the Deli at Al's Supermarket / Franklin Street store, Michigan City, Indiana. In her youth she was a member of the Moose 980 Du-Kays. She enjoyed visiting different City Zoos and Camping. She was a true fighter till the end battling her illness.
