Judith Ann Lykins, 74, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at 5:30 am in her home surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Joe Shelton officiating. Private burial will take place. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, Wednesday the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

Judy was born November 25, 1943 in Kouts, Indiana to the late Harold and Darlene (Talbutt) Hall. She grew up in the small town of La Crosse, Indiana with her older sister Lila Hall and younger brother James (Jim).

After graduating from La Crosse High School, Judy started beauty college and moved to Michigan City, where she met and married the late Robert L. Lykins in 1967. Two children were born from this union, Susan and Margaret.

Judy worked for Sprague Devices for 29 years, and later for Jaymar Ruby, Meijer, Jewel/Osco and Al's grocery. Judy also enjoyed being her friends' hairdresser for many years.

Left to mourn her memory is the love of her life Robert Vardaman, who has taken care of her and loved her for over 30 years.

Also left to mourn are her children, Susan (Vern) Spohn of Michigan City, IN and Margaret (Harold, II) Slabaugh of New Carlisle, IN; step-children, Robert D. (Elva) Lykins, I of Michigan City, IN; Linda (Walt) Byers of LaPorte, IN and Brenda (Kenneth) DeMay of Campbell, MO; adopted daughter, Debi (Fred) Dunson of Indianapolis, IN; brother, James (Shirley) Hall of La Crosse, IN; twenty grandchildren, Zack Lykins, Clint Gasaway, Krystal Gasaway, Grace Gasaway, Gavin Mohammed, Kaleb Slabaugh, Cain Slabaugh, Chloe Slabaugh, Harold Slabaugh, III, Dean Lykins, II, Alisa Owens Dykstra, Karen Combs, Phillip Lykins, Brad Lykins, Delinda Braniger, Bobby Byers, Kevin DeMay, Carol Adams Tanksley, Brittani Crews and Derek Crews; 24 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Darlene Hall; husband, Robert L. Lykins; sister, Lila Hall; great-granddaughter, Aria Mirielle Slabaugh.

Judy was known for her beautiful and wonderful laugh. Even if you didn't see Judy you knew she was there when you heard her laugh.
