John Fleck , 95, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 11:23 am in Hospice Franciscan Communities, Michigan City, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Carol Trent officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, Michigan. Visitation hours will be from 12:00 pm -2:00 pm, Saturday in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Full military services will be conducted Saturday in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo, Michigan.
He was born June 21, 1922 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Joseph and Clara (Engerman) Fleck. On April 19, 1947 in Pines, Indiana he married Elvera F.(Zabukas ) Fleck who preceded July 16, 2016. Surviving are Son, Larry (Janelle) Fleck of Michigan City, Indiana; Daughter, Lynell (Mike) Miller of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Three Grandchildren, Nicole (Craig ) Painter of Granger, Indiana, Natasha (Luke) Kahawai of Hawaii and Joelle (J.D. ) Schaumberg of Lafayette, Indiana; Three Great-Grandchildren, Grace, Jaxon, Zion and Caregiver , Ariunaa Dambii; Brother, Joseph Fleck of New Buffalo, Michigan; He was preceded in death by a Brother, Donald Fleck and Two Sisters, Evelyn Fleck and Dorothy Fleck;
John retired in 1980 as a foundry foreman from Indiana General Corporation, Valparaiso, Indiana. After retirement he worked as a Real Estate Broker and spent time traveling and camping. He served in the US Army during W.W.II. for which he was a member of the Battle of the Bulge survivor group of Michigan City, Indiana and also a member of the DAV Danny Bruce Chapter 23, Michigan City, Indiana.
