Jeannette R. Switzer, 90, New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 4:15 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, New Carlisle, IN.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
She was born June 13, 1926 in Michigan City, IN to the late Fredrick and Bertha (Green) Anderson. On May 1, 1943 in Michigan City, IN she married Eugene A. Switzer who preceded February 20, 1991.
Surviving are five daughters, Peggy (Joseph) Schultz of Tremonton, Utah, Susan Gumns of Michigan City, IN, Nancy (Joseph) Groth of Michigan City, IN, Toni (Robert) Probst of Port Deposit, MD, Michelle (Douglas) Muenzer of San Diego, CA; two sons, Keith (Jenifer) Switzer of Michigan City, IN, Dennis (Judy) Switzer of Michigan City, IN; 15 - grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 4 - Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Switzer, Daniel Switzer; three sisters, Marion Boyan, Margaret Milich, Helen Shaw; two brothers, Fred Anderson, Howard Anderson.
Jeannette was a homemaker and was a member of Queen of All Saint's Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, cooking, and baking. She loved animals and spending time with family. The family would like to give a special thanks to Great Lakes Hospice and the staff of Miller's Merry Manor.
