James H. Trunk, 52, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 6:00 am in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Dr. David Albertin officiating. Private burial will take place. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, Monday and from 10:00 am until time service Tuesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

He was born June 8, 1964 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Russell and Norma (Fletcher) Schoof. On September 17, 1988 in LaPorte, IN he married Brenda Brown who survives.

Also surviving are two Sons, Jonathan Trunk of Tampa, FL and Brendan (Ashley) Trunk of North Liberty, IN; six grandchildren, John Paul, Aiden, Alexia, Dreydon, Takoda and Caylum Trunk; two sisters, Carol Luther of LaPorte, IN and Jo Ann (Bill) Bontrager of Elkhart, IN; four brothers, Robert Trunk of LaPorte, IN, Neil (Susan) Trunk of The Pines, IN, Carl J. (Vivian) Trunk, Jr. of Michigan City, IN and Thomas (Cindy) Schoof of LaPorte, IN.

He was also preceded in death by his adopted father, Carl J. Trunk, Sr.; son, Adam; sister, Jacqueline Martin; and brother, Donald Schoof.

James was an operating engineer with the Operating Engineers Local 150. He enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing and NASCAR.
