James Francis Lee, 78, Grand Beach, Michigan, formerly of Homewood, IL, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at 7:15 am in his home surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 13, 2017 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1010 Moore Road, Long Beach, IN with Rev. Keith McClellan officiating. Private entombment will take place in Cedar Grove Cemetery on the Campus of University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm -6:00 pm, Sunday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:30 am until Mass time service Monday at Notre Dame Catholic Church.

He was born February 11, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Francis and Anne (Halm) Lee. On May 27, 1961 he married Alicia Rogers who survives in Grand Beach, MI.

Also surviving are seven children, James "Seamus" Lee, Jr., Anne (Martin) Mikulich, Michael "Bubba" (Beth) Lee, Erin (Santos) DeNova, Siobhan (Christopher) Kozicki, Sean (Kristen) Lee and Deirdre "Dee" (Joseph Boes) Lee; dear grandfather to Ryan and Blaine Sheldon, Santos, Brisa and Brendan DeNova, Patrick and Regan Lee, Deirdre, Cormac and Maeve Kozicki and Grace Lee; dear brother and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; and a good friend to many.

He retired as the CFO Deputy Director for the Cook County Sheriff's Dept. Jim was a very active member of Infant Jesus of Prague, Flossmoor, IL and Notre Dame Catholic Church, Long Beach, IN Parishes. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. Jim was a proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a lifelong season ticket holder for the football team. He was always "proud of his South Side Irish roots".
