James M. Egle, 90, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 3:30 pm in Hospice Franciscan Communities, Michigan City, IN.
Private family services were conducted. Burial took place in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
He was born April 18, 1927 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Harvey and Lucia (Rachor) Egle. On September 1, 1956 in Michigan City, IN he married Miriam Sieb who survives in Michigan City, IN.
Also surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Dave) Potempa of LaPorte, IN and Paula Scott of Largo, FL; two sons, David Egle and Michael (Pam) Egle, both of Michigan City, IN; four grandchildren, Daniel Scott, Andrew Scott, Stephanie Egle and Matthew Egle; and his niece, Mary Neary.
He also was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Holloway.
James had worked for 37 years at the NIPSCO generating station and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed cooking, perch fishing, dancing at the legion clubs and taking long drives on the back roads of Michigan with his wife discovering new places. The family would like to acknowledge the nurses of Hospice Franciscan Communities for the care that was given.
