James D. "Jimmy" Bentley, 52, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 3:00 pm in his home.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 pm Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Jeff Fields officiating. Cremation took place. Visitation will be from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
He was born September 2, 1963 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Charles Ralph and Nora Ellen (Gunter) Bentley.
Surviving are his companion of 27 years, Sherri Yeakey of Michigan City, IN; four daughters, Misty (Leroy) Warren, Jessica (Garren) Bentley, Chrissy (Joshua) Bentley and, Judith Wilke, all of Michigan City, IN; son, Jacob Bentley of Michigan City, IN; seven grandchildren, Mariah Simpson, Ciara Edwards, Gabriella Wyse, Gage Warren, Addison Gallas, Kya Klettke and Avery Wyse; two sisters, Kathleen (Richard) Chadwick of Concord, NC and Martha Bentley of Michigan City, IN; three brothers, Charles Bentley of Michigan City, IN, John M. Bentley of Concord, NC and Charlie (Chris) Bentley of Michigan City, IN.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Brian Bentley, Christopher Bentley, Rickey Bentley, Sr., Paul Bentley.
He was tree trimmer retiring in 2015. James enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and spending time with his family.
