Gordon W. Lawson, 71, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 8:40 pm in I.U. Health La Porte Hospital, La Porte, IN.
There will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
He was born December 10, 1944 in Walnut Ridge, AR to the late Ewell and May (Bradley) Lawson. On August 4, 1979 in La Porte, IN he married Marilyn (LaRocca) Lawson who survives in La Porte, IN.
Also surviving are Sister, Betty McMillon of Walnut Ridge, AR; step-son, Jeff Vanaman of La Porte; sister-in-law, Carolyn Lawson of AR; two nephews, Ed Lawson and Kiley Lawson both of AR. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Lawson, Donnie Lawson.
Gordon retired as a Supervisor at Stelrema Corporation after 42 years. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed camping on the Tippecanoe River.
