Esther Barbara Holm, 94 died on October 6 in Michigan City, Indiana. She lived her life as a woman "...clothed with strength and dignity" (Proverbs 31:25). Barb was born to Andrew and Esther Clauson on September 11, 1923, in Staten Island, New York. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Massachusetts, in 1944 and joined the U.S. Navy as a WAVE. She served in Washington, D.C. where she met Ward Kentfield Holm, whom she married in 1946. She loved being a mother, the beach, golf and all outdoor activities. She was a faithful member of the Michigan City First Presbyterian Church.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Ward, and brother, Ralph. She is survived by her children Karen Davis, Holly (Don) Guthrie, Peter (Maureen) Holm and Woody (Sherri) Holm, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her family is grateful for her caregivers at the Trail Creek Place Senior Living Center and the Great Lakes Caring Hospice organization. There is no visitation or public funeral. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
