Dennis W. Lutz, 70, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 12:37 pm in Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Private burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday and from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN. The John Franklin Miller American Legion Post 37 will conduct full military services at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. The Marine Corps League Detachment #1348 Michiana Marines will conduct a service at 6:00 pm Friday in the funeral Chapel.

He was born December 29, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Lucille (Sopczak) Lutz. On February 26, 1983 in Michigan City, IN he married Susan Krajewski who survives in Trail Creek, IN.

Also surviving are a daughter, Sarah Lutz of Chicago, Illinois; son, Jonathan J. Lutz of Chicago, Illinois; and his sister-in-law, Donna Lutz of Michigan City, IN.

He was also preceded in death by brother, Gregory Lutz.

Dennis retired as a surveyor at Falk/PLI Engineering, Portage, IN and was a U.S Marine Corps Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Caddy Shackers Golf League, John Franklin Miller American Legion Post 37 and was the current Commandant of the Marine Corps League Detachment #1348 Michiana Marines. Dennis enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, traveling and spending time with his family. He was also an usher at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, active in the Toys for Tots program and was a loving husband and father.
